christmas tree, oh christmas tree

well jake and i will only be in utah until dec. 17th, and we wanted to have our own little christmas. so we decided to get a little jump on it and get our tree befor thanksgiving, so we could enjoy it longer. and its real! you cant have a tree unless its real (a nobel fir to be exact) i love christmas!

andy and amy came over to join the decorating, and we made hot chocolate, and popcorn! and listened to christmas music, it was a perfect chilly, snowy christmas night!

one year

a first time for everything

well jake had a flag football game last night, and i stayed home to watch glee.

about 2o minutes in to it i got this picture from his brother, with it said "you might want to come down to the field"so emily and i headed over, and when we got there jake and the other guy were sitting out, and the emts were helping them. jake didnt think it was to bad, and they were a guy down, so he took some excedrine and went back out til the end of the game.
we went home and he cleaned it out, and butterflied it, but it only lasted about 15 minutes befor the blood started again. so we went to the er and had it looked at. but when we got there the other guy was there aswell, right across from jake, so it was a party!

about 2 hours and 5 stitches later(for jake) we got to go home. emily took us to get icecream after, jake needed it, hahathe other guy, ( jakes teammate, ryan) a broken nose and a few stitches. i feel really bad for him.they were both going for the qb and hit eachother instead.

all in all it was an eventful night, oh and it was jakes first time getting stitches!

weekend

jake and i had a fun, busy weekend. we started friday night, bowling with jamie and daniel. then saturday we got up early and cleaned the appt. like crazy, i love a clean place.

then i wanted to change some things in our appt, make it more us. we had stars above our tv (i didnt really like them) so we printed off some pictures from jakes mission and hung them up. i like them alot more then the stars, and they mean more to jake.

andy and amy came over to help us measure it all, they had all the tools we needed.
amy and i just watched..

then today i finally got the confidence to make our mason jar hanger. the last time we were in escalante we collected old barn wood from the old family ranch. so then i went and found some really cute knobs.. but then they sat here cause i wasnt sure how to tackle it, and im not too crafty.. but today jake and i did it. and jake got to get a power drill which made him very happy. so we marked it all out and set it up. then we hung the mason jars from it that we used at our wedding that my dad made! and if you notice the horse shoe is from the same place as the wood...

im glad we did it, i love it.
